Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 May 2026

We collect as little as possible, we don't sell anything, and we use what we do collect to respond to you and run the studio. The detail follows.

01Who we are

This policy describes how Desk of MJ Ltd (the studio) handles information about visitors to this site and clients who engage us on a project. We're registered in the United Kingdom; our address appears in the footer.

For the purposes of UK and EU data protection law, the studio is the data controller for personal information collected through this site and through direct project correspondence.

02What we collect

We collect a small amount of information by default — the technical data your browser sends when it requests a page (IP address, user agent, referrer, timestamps) and basic analytics about which pages are viewed.

If you fill in the contact form or otherwise reach out, we receive whatever you choose to share: name, email, company, budget range, and the message itself.

If you become a client, we additionally hold the information needed to deliver the project and bill you — including invoice details and any access credentials you grant us for the duration of the work.

03How we use it

We use the information you share with us to respond to your enquiry, deliver projects, send invoices, and maintain the studio's books. We use analytics to understand which pages are useful and to improve the site over time.

We don't sell your information, and we don't use it to build advertising profiles.

04Cookies and analytics

This site uses a minimal set of cookies to keep the dark/light theme preference and to support core site functionality. Analytics, when present, are configured to anonymise IP addresses and respect Do Not Track signals where possible.

You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings. Doing so will reset the theme preference.

05Sharing with third parties

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the studio — hosting, email, payments, and analytics. Each receives only the information needed to perform its function and is bound by its own privacy commitments.

We will share information when required by law (for example, in response to a valid legal request) or when necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of the studio, our clients, or others.

06How long we keep it

We keep contact-form enquiries for as long as we're actively in conversation, plus a short follow-up window. Client records are retained for the duration of the engagement and for as long afterwards as our tax and accounting obligations require.

If you'd like us to remove your information sooner, just ask.

07Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it if it's wrong, to ask us to delete it, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to receive a copy of it in a portable format.

To exercise any of these rights, email us using the address at the end of this page. We'll respond within one month.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the UK or your local supervisory authority.

08International transfers

Some of our service providers operate outside the UK and EU. Where we transfer your information abroad, we rely on the safeguards required by data protection law — typically the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an applicable adequacy decision.

09Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect the information we hold from accidental loss, unauthorised access, and misuse. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure, but we work to keep ours close.

10Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, with the last-updated date above. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of the page for a reasonable period.
